Dynasty

A dynasty is a family with the power to make sure its own members control a government. A dynasty is generally aligned with autocratic forms of governance such as monarchy, despotism, or family business. In contrast to democratic forms of governance, the candidate pool for leadership in a dynasty is very restricted by nepotistic bloodline rules of heredity and marriage which usually preclude exceptions through adoption even of highly talented individuals.[cmt 1]
