Kazuya explains how Halbert's plan will harm Kaede. Later, Halbert's father, Glaive Magna, pleads to Kazuya to have mercy on Halbert. Kazuya agrees and orders Halbert to be reässigned to the Forbidden Army under Kaede. (v1c6) Works for the Forbidden Army to build roads in Elfrieden. 1 Fundraising 1546-04-32 CC. Albert Elfrieden cedes his throne to Souma Kazuya. Kazuya learns his special magical ability is to create independent copies of his consciousness which can animate inanimate objects; he immediately possesses pens to independently review paperwork alongside him. Princess Liscia returns early from patrol to confront Kazuya. She finds her parents relaxing. She finds Kazuya deep in paperwork. Kazuya recruits Liscia to search for missing revenue before realizing she is his betrothed. Kazuya has secured payment to the Gran Chaos Empire and is currently beginning an agricultural reform. Kazuya reassures Liscia that he intends to only reform the Kingdom out of its current economic predicament of food shortages before abdicating the throne; she need not worry about marrying him. Liscia takes Kazuya to inspect some fields. Kazuya explains how farmers growing cash crops, like cotton, at the expense of food crops, forces expensive food imports that outweigh the income from cash crops, impoverishing the state overall.
