The September 11 attacks (a.k.a. 9/11, September 11th attacks) was a historical event in which 19 militant Islamic agents trained by al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger airliners on the morning of 2001-09-11. Two crashed into the World Trade Center in New York City, one into the Pentagon, and a fourth crashed last in rural Pennsylvania following a passenger revolt.
