Earth is uniquely suited to facilitate homo sapiens life and therefore should be protected. Space exploration offers the billionaires who currently dominate global politics a false “civilization restart” option which will leave behind the vast majority of human life on Earth since the huge amount of resources required to colonize another planet must come at the expense of earthbound humanity.
